Notable Players: KuroeKiriya: Guild leader of the Moonlit Black Cats and a veteran Rebel Impulse player, an Elf mage from Cethleann. A VRMMO veteran, he is known as one of the top players of Elder Saga Online and a famed strategist who has written several guides on running Cethleann mages and dealing with the more difficult raids in Rebel Impulse. Known as a helpful player, he (along with the rest of the Black Cats) is considered an authority figure among the Cethleann playerbase, with his reputation being well-known throughout all six Shards to the point Firbolgs and Divers alike respect Kuroe's authority. There are persistent rumours, however, that Kuroe is an Aes Sidhe, given his immense skill and knowledge of the game, which his friends have often become exasperated pointing to his previous accounts on other games and the fact that even if Aes Sidhe existed, they would be only be present on Rebel Impulse. By all accounts, a friendly, albeit awkward man, who is more in his element planning and playing politics than directly fighting despite his massive skill at the game. One of the better known Zekken. RainMaker: A pro player from CGX, real name Kirigaya Aimi. Previously a member of Team Liquid's Diabolos Dive roster, she was eventually signed to CGX in a talent exchange. RainMaker was already a famed Lugh player and subsequently joined the Lugh roster of CGX, with her team winning the Intelli Studios Invitationals held two months ago against their rivals NoH Gaming. Her and her close friend Strongstyle are well-known since their first days in pro gaming, and their most famous incident involves fending off 50 members of Fight Club from various Shards during a disruption of a CGX livestreamed event, the most viewed video of which has received over 3 million views. Many newer players have usernames based on some variation of her screen name out of admiration. It is suspected that, like most pro players, RainMaker has an alt account to use when not playing on behalf of CGX due to her name being well-known, but rumours as to the identity of the alt account are unconfirmed. She plays as a fist-based fighter from Lugh. Renown for being all smiles and grins before a match, before becoming so hyper-focused as if it were another personality entirely in control during her matches. Trish: The leader of the Warriors and one of Rebel Impulse's top players for battle ranking, a swordswoman from Cichol. A fierce, boisterous type, Trish actively seeks out PvP fights, to the extent that even Fight Club players tend to steer clear of her due to her tendency to cause massive property damage when fighting. Much discussion on off-game forums has ensued about dream matches between her and RainMaker, Hiroki or any other skilled player of Rebel Impulse to the point of threads being derailed by discussions on it being a meme. Hiroki: One of the top solo players of Rebel Impulse and a known Zekken, a Morrigan player specialising in melee combat known for wearing all black and often one of the top solo clearers of Rebel Impulse content. It is rumoured that he was courted by CGX and NoH to join their rosters, and Ring of Honor and the Warriors to join their ranks, offers he declined. A solo fighter, Hiroki nonetheless is often seen running missions with random players who thank him for his help; while cordial, he often avoids taking friend requests and disappears as soon as the mission is over. He does appear often to protect lower-level players from Fight Club, unaffiliated PKers and occasionally even JSM's more brutal attempts to prevent other players from joining raids; he also appears to protect Firbolgs from abuse and has been known to be faster than the Guard Golems in protecting Firbolgs. It is speculated that Hiroki is an alt account, either for RainMaker or another pro player known to play Rebel Impulse. kitkat335: The leader of Gamers For Weed, and a former Black Cat, as well as a current friend of Kuroe, currently a Spriggan from Cethleann. An old friend of Kuroe's from Elder Saga, known for her laidback personality and helpfulness to new players, her name holds influence in Cethleann second only to Kuroe's and any of the Black Cats. kitkat335 is well-known in the Rebel Impulse playerbase for having the highest clear score during the Renegade Blacksmith events, having been the first person to clear the highest tier and having managed to carry a low-leveled team of new players through the highest content with some assistance from GFW. She often dresses in silly, ridiculous clothing, the effect amplified by her small stature as a Spriggan. LaraMoona: The screen name of the VTuber Mara Luna, a fairy-themed VTuber known for streaming Rebel Impulse and Minecraft content. As "Mara Luna", "MaraLuna" and other variants were taken by fans of Mara's, her and her team were forced to use the current spelling as her IGN, playing as a phoenix-themed Puca. She is primarily known for purchasing land ingame to create a DcMonalds, for which her guild is named, established in Oghma. Similar branches have been established throughout the Shards by her fans to degrees of success, often running into conflict with cosplayers and players who take the game far too seriously. Manannan: A "Tuath De" account. Usually taking the form of a black-haired woman in white, she plays an Elatha character. Intelli staff have explained that she is a co-worker of Ogmius', but have not revealed the real life identities of either person. Rumours abound about her access to CALADBOLG, given videos lurking around about seemingly-impossible tasks she has done. When she is encountered, she tends to be perky and cheerful, when not complaining about her office job or why nobody wants to go drinking with her, and often assists people during Raids or simply to clear content. Ogmius: A "Tuath De" account. A glass-wearing, reclusive man, he plays an Oghma character and often gives out tips in a brusque tone, but respects those with the intellect and intelligence to seek out the information on their own. Intelli staff explain that Ogmius was one of the more important developers on Rebel Impulse, for which he was given the account. Player anecdotes tell of Ogmius' seemingly impossible feats, with CALADBOLG being posited as a possible explanation. Dagda: The Intelli "Tuath De" account for the CEO and lead developer of Intelli, Rafael Luna. An energetic man, he is clearly very excited about the game and often helps weaker players when running events, with his news broadcasts having reached memetic status for his broadcasts signalling the beginning of events ingame. Crom Cruach: The Intelli "Tuath De" account for one of the senior developers, Carl DiMarco. A quiet, but charismatic man, he is very rarely seen except when the Tuath De appear as a group. Crom Cruach is often only seen ingame when other Intelli Studios staff are doing ingame promotional events, but has been seen ingame from time to time. Notable Firbolgs: The Land Gods and Otherworld Gods: The gods for whom the Shards are named. Very few players have seen the Gods in person, and fewer still have seen Donn, with Nuada being sealed away in Elphyne. Their personalities fit their Shards; Cichol is a serious, proud warrior, Cethleann a kindly, motherly mage, Elatha a whimsical martial artist, Lugh an eager fighter, Oghma a curious innovator and Morrigan a tactical soldier. Donn, rarely seen, is a dour, but dutiful man. Force Commander Ulster Pentecost: Echelon Seven's commanding officer and a veteran field officer, an imposing, fierce presence. The Shadow Agony event revealed that he and Ahab, leader of Outer Paradise, were once friends and almost a milennium old, with both of them having once been acolytes of the original discoverer of Darkness Gate Style, before fleeing to Morrigan to avoid being purged. However, Commander Pentecost's sanity survived Darkness Gate Style and he eventually, over the course of centuries, broke away from Ahab, founding Echelon Seven in the process to stop Ahab's plans himself. His personal field team in Echelon Seven is Task Force Dagr and player characters with sufficient skills are eventually recruited to join Task Force Dagr; in game, the best players in Morrigan are invited to join Task Force Dagr. Queen Elanna: The queen of the Elves and leader of the Seven-Headed Council. A dignified, but selfless woman who would gladly sacrifice herself for the sake of peace, dedicated to fighting the Returners; rumours abound, however, that she feels rather insecure about her romantic prospects despite ingame Firbolgs viewing her as one of the most beautiful women in the Shards. She handles quests for most of Cethleann, focusing on Elf players in particular, and has been seen in disguise aiding players from time to time, leading to theories that Elanna is one of the vaunted Aes Sidhe. Professor Eric Galloway: Inventor of the Impulse Heart and a respected professor at the Colleges. Scatterbrained but highly intelligent, Galloway is happy to aid players from time to time but spends most of his time traveling around Oghma and the other Shards; as such, players seeking Galloway's assistance may need to find him first across the Shards. Fortunately, very few quests are tied to Galloway, so players have very little to be concerned about seeking him out. Occasionally, Galloway hands out inventions to players that exceed even the strongest crafts an Oghma player can create, but primarily gives these out to players he believes are those who embody his virtues. Alissa Salazar: Leader of Le Corbeau and, after the Raven's Nest event, a leader of one of the player factions, recruiting players into Le Corbeau. A cheeky, roguish woman, she steals for the challenge, viewing her interactions with the Colleges as a friendly contest, and allies with them to take down Le Couteau, viewing them as brutish savages. Alissa is known as a skilled combatant, occasionally entering Firbolg-led tournaments on other Shards as she is known to be a (lore-wise) Diver. Armsmaster Hessel: Leader of the House of Swords, the guild that governs sword mastery in Cichol. A fierce type, he is closely associated with Trish of the Warriors and is seen sparring with her when not handling new recruits to the House of Swords. Hessel is also the unofficial "leader" of the Armsmasters, as the oldest and most experienced Armsmaster. For certain Raids, Hessel occasionally assists players, bringing his sword skills to the fore. Pale Singer/Anya: The Firbolg who runs arena battles in Lugh, an Impulse Gear user. She also acts as the excitable announcer for Arena matches. When challenged to fights, she proves a formidable combatant using sound-based attacks rivaling even high-level Divers. Her Pulseclub is Corinth's Own, a generalist Pulseclub full of Arena veterans, which can be joined by players who earn Anya's respect and friendship, granting them access to Arena-related buffs. Akko: A disciple of Raging Fire Style, a sharp-tongued fighter who challenges initiates to Raging Fire Style to fight her before beginning training. She respects those with great strength, seemingly hiding her affection for them behind fierceness. She can be tapped as a party member for Raids where Divers have earned her respect and occasionally participates in Labanan tournaments. Anri: The guide NPC in Tairngire, a kindly scholar with information about all of the Shards from her years of exploration. She gently encourages players to play and get stronger, and will team up with Divers who need her assistance, but is rather weak past the midgame, but she is essential to the story of Tairngire.
